Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about 221Buddy.
What is 221Buddy?
221Buddy is a family safety platform that helps parents stay connected and informed about their children's digital activity. It provides real-time alerts, conversation insights, and monitoring tools — all in one place — so families can have meaningful conversations about online safety.
How do I add a child account?
Once you're signed in, navigate to Settings → Family and click Add Child. You'll be guided through a short setup wizard to link your child's device. Each child gets their own profile, and you can manage permissions and alerts independently for each one.
What devices and platforms are supported?
221Buddy currently supports iOS and Android devices. Monitoring features require the 221Buddy companion app to be installed on your child's device. We recommend keeping the companion app updated to ensure you receive the latest alerts and activity data.
Is my family's data private and secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties. Only you — the account holder — can view your family's activity. You can review our full privacy practices on the Privacy Policy page.
How do alerts work?
Alerts are triggered when 221Buddy detects activity that matches your monitoring preferences — such as specific keywords, contact patterns, or usage thresholds. You'll receive a notification and can review the flagged activity in the Alerts section of your dashboard. You can customize alert sensitivity in Settings → Alerts.
